 The ACRA group block dates are Fri 30 April and Sat 01 May
 if you desire stay an extra day longer either side of, please

6:00 pm          Walking tour of The Forks (La Fourche) National Historic Site, and the Exchange District.

 8:00 pm         Dinner, Hermano’s Restaurant 
                     (South American style Steakhouse and Tapas)
                     179 Bannatyne Ave. in the Exchange district

                     15% gratuity will be added to each bill account as we are a group

 approx 9:30 -10:00pm      

                     Stamina permitting, hardy souls can keep going …for live music

We are going to Narcisse MB for the world-renowned Narcisse Snake Dens. Snakes …OMG ?!?!? 
No need to be scared or squeamish…this is a fascinating eco-site, unique in the world.
For a very brief period each spring, thousands of small, harmless, red-sided garter snakes emerge
from their winter dens in the limestone caverns … to have their bizarre courting / mating ritual.

From Narcisse we drive through the Interlake region to Gimli, MB, on the shores of Lake Winnipeg,
which is like an ocean on the prairies, one of the largest lakes in the world, but uniquely different 
than the eastern Great Lakes.  

Gimli is in the heart of “New Iceland” Manitoba, and remains in the heart of Icelanders to this day.
135 years ago, settlers from the island nation came to this area. We will explore the strong,
strange, and seemingly unbreakable cultural ties that exist between these two parts of the world. 

For lunch, we have 3 local Gimli restaurants we recommend to you:

(quaint and pretty teahouse décor with eclectic chinaware, serving quiches, sandwiches,
and a few Icelandic choices to try)

Cronshaw’s Pub & Eatery, Centre St, between 3^rd and 4^th Ave.  (204)641-0037 
(an old jewelry store, renovated into a woodsy, warm pub atmosphere. The owner is proud to tell you
that they are the only restaurant in town that does not own a deep-fryer! Organic breads, very simple
but good menu of soups, salads, sandwiches, baked chicken wings and chicken strips, pizzas, etc.) 

ACRA guests pay own lunch at restaurant of your choice. 

Meet at the Bandshell, Gimli / Lake Winnipeg Visitors Centre at 3:00 pm
for return to Winnipeg. Arrive hotel for 4:00 pm 

6:25 pm   Meet in lobby Humphry Inn & Suites 

6:30 pm   Hotel guests will be picked up, and transported to ACRA System Photo Awards Reception               

6:30 pm   ACRA System Photography Display and Awards Reception
                Mezzanine and Atrium , *AC Building, 355 Portage Ave.               
Food and beverages will be provided at the reception.   Theme :  A Manitoba “Social”         

At some point prior to, or during the weekend, we will be collecting $5 - $10
(to be determined) per person, towards reception food costs. 

Beer and wine will be available, but due to liquor licensing restrictions, we will have to sell you tickets for these in advance, prior to the reception. Yes, minors/children are welcome. 

* AC building is a secure venue, therefore, for security requirements, we must provide an attendance list in advance for admittance to the building.
